This is just a mirror of some AIM buddy icons that I'm keeping a hold of for other people. I didn't make these things up except for the Southpark ones, which I sort-of made up. I'm not trying to claim copyright, all of the rest are other peoples work. This is just a safe-house mirror for a few of them.

This has turned out to be the most popular page on this site, as far as Google searches go. A few of those searches were after information on how to create an AIM buddy icon. It's dead easy - you just need to create a 50 x 50 pixel GIF and then load that into AIM. Most graphics software nowadays will allow you to create GIF files - the version of Paint that comes with Windows XP certainly will, although there are definitely better graphics programs than that.

If you want to make up Southpark characters for your buddy icons then go here and build up the picture. Then take a screen shot, crop it down a bit, resize it to 50 x 50 pixels and save it as a GIF.
